Alright folks, now is your chance to post all of those .vbs scripts you use for different things with Thinstall.
Upload your script files and post a description of what it does. The power of being able to use a .vbs included within the Thinstall app has enormous potential.Let's here about yours!!

2. Any tools out there use to effectively manage Thinstall.
3. Any websites links that can point to more technical guide, tutorials and support.
4. What's exactly this product do to and how does it integrated to ESX and Citrix environment.
Again, sorry for newbie questions and hope to learn all this in a week to get up with the speed!

As an Enterprise level packager with experience in both InstallShield and Wise, there are two features I would like to see built into the product. Currently the product only allows you to change the directory name one level. For some Enterprises such as our, we would like to be able to not only change the name but add a level. Currently Thinstall allows for %ProgramFolders%\AppFolderName, This forces me to have to open the .msi in Wise and change the directory structure to conform to our internal standards of %ProgramFolders%\VirtualApps\ApplicationName. Additionally I would like to be able to additional additional External Registry key that are not part of the Virtual Apps, but part of the MSI installer which we use for scanning and tracking purposes. Again, I have to open the MSI using Wise and add the HKLM key manually. It would be nice to be able to do this from within the Package.ini and therefore eliminate the need to modify the msi manually.
Wish List.
1) Ability to define multiple level directory Ex. (C:\Program Files\Virtual Apps\(Application Name)
2) Add an HKLM key during MSI installation which is used for tracing/scanning purposes.

Is it possible to run a VBScript that checks for a HKLM registry key in the System prior to launching the Thinstall Application? What I am looking to accomplish if possible is a process by which I can have the Thinstalled Executable check the local system for a specific registry key, if it finds it, allow the application to execute, if not found, display a message box with a warning message.
This will serve as extra security to ensure that our corporate users do not pass the executable amongst themselves. Installation must be done via SMS in order for them to use the application.
I have a script that works, however it is checking the Virtual registry and I need to check the host registry prior to launching.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was downloading and installing Thinstall 3.358 this morning and experienced that I had to uninstall all previous versions which where already in my Add & Remove programs list.
I always add the version to the Thinstall folder name so is there any need to build in any check for older versions?

I'm attempting to publish the demo firefox application in Citrix. (PS 4.0 / ICA Client 10.1) Anyone know if anything special is required to get this to work. Appears to work fine as admin user but fails with non-privileged user. (does work if launch inside a full published desktop)

Does anyone have any ideas that would "force" the writes to a USB Flash Drive? We have several Sandisk Contour Flash drives and I have noticed that even though the drives are set for "Quick Removal" XP is not committing all writes to the drive immediately (I must "remove" the drive using the USB tray icon). Now before I get lectured, I know it is Best Practice to do that anyway, but you really aren't suppose to need to.
So here is my problem: I have Thinstalled an email client for our company users. If they work within the email using the flash drive and PULL the drive shortly after closing their email, their account will end up blank. After investigating, I have it was due to writes not being committed right away.
So I had an idea. What if I create a Thinstall VB Script that would "force" the writing immediately and launch it when the Thinstall app is closed. But the question I have (and I dont know scripting) is: How would I do that? What would the script be in Windows to accomplish such a thing...is there one?
I know the script would execute OnFirstParentExit, ....and that's all.
Thanks for any help.
