I did exactly what you suggested and found that it all came down to one single file: %SystemSystem%\oleaut32.dll.

For some season, scripts no longer run in my situation when this file is included in the capture. When I deleted it from the project, all was well.

Further tests will show whether the application will still work without it. A version of this dll is already present in the base image, so who knows.

I think that the underlying cause of the problem is that the "ThinApp agent software" , if you can call it that, is virtualised automatically alongside the application itself, inside the same virtualised environment. So I guess by definition, they interact with each other, and apparently, this can cause problems.
